Arriva Bus Service

General concern over the poor service received in our area. We are having ongoing discussions with Arriva

Old Police HQ

SBC should be in a position to make an announcement within the next 2 to 3 months, however, PCC Mathew Ellis was asked about the progress on the Old Police HQ Site via social media, he replied as follows…

“It’s been anything but simple but working towards something in keeping with area & to minimise traffic.

I’m aiming at a high qual development. Also trying to help re health centre & pos high end retirement+. But it’s all very difficult! Trying to get to where I think locals would agree with but lots of hurdles to get there still after all these months.

Embroiled in lots of planning & other sensitivities at present. Publicise more in few weeks & then’ll be consultation as well

{ ‘commercial sensitivities’ ?}

Largely because it’s complex as I’m trying to take the right option for area rather than easy option for me!”

When we hear more we will let you know.

Local Roads

– The Beaconside extension (EDR)
This road will run from the Fire Station to the Tixall Road as part of the current development. The section between the Tixall Road and St Thomas Mill will be constructed with the development on the Triangle mound.
